Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using GradePoint (including getgradepoint.com and any related calculators), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply whether you use GradePoint on a desktop browser, mobile device, or printed report generated from the tools.

2. Informational purposes only

GradePoint is an independent academic estimation tool for informational and educational purposes. Calculations follow common U.S. grading conventions (such as the 4.0 unweighted scale and common Honors/AP weighting), but institutions differ in how they round, weight, exclude, and record grades. Results are estimates and are not a substitute for official records.

Always confirm your GPA, class rank, graduation eligibility, athletic eligibility, scholarship standing, and degree progress with your school's registrar, counselor, or academic advisor before making academic, admission, financial-aid, or scholarship decisions. GradePoint is not affiliated with any school district, university, College Board, IB organization, or testing agency.

3. Description of the service

GradePoint provides free browser-based utilities, including semester and cumulative GPA calculators, a final exam target calculator, weighted Honors/AP GPA tools, and a high school GPA calculator. Inputs are processed in your browser; we do not store your grades on our servers. Features such as auto-save and print-ready summaries are provided for convenience and may change or be discontinued without notice.

4. Acceptable use

You may use GradePoint for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You agree not to:

  • Interfere with the site's operation or security
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate access at abusive volumes
  • Reverse-engineer the service solely to build a competing commercial product from our content without permission
  • Misrepresent GradePoint output as an official transcript, registrar document, or institutional GPA calculation
  • Use the site to distribute malware, spam, or unlawful content

5. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or uninterrupted availability. Grade scales and policies vary by school; we cannot guarantee that any estimate matches your institution's official calculation, rounding rules, or course exclusions.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GradePoint and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its calculations — including academic, admission, athletic, or scholarship decisions made based on estimated results. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it.

7. Advertising

GradePoint is free to use and supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Ads are served by third parties and their content is not endorsed by GradePoint. We do not control the creative content of third-party ads. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising cookies, personalized advertising, and opt-out options.

8. Intellectual property

The GradePoint name, site design, educational articles, FAQ content, and original software are owned by GradePoint or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, frame, or commercially exploit the site's content without prior written permission, except for personal educational use of calculator results (for example, printing a summary for an advising appointment).

9. User content and inputs

Course names and grades you enter remain under your control on your device. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping sensitive information out of fields that might be visible on a shared computer or printed report.

10. Changes and termination

We may revise these terms or modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.

11. Contact
